Category is, Jinkx Monsoon cementing herself as one of the greatest success stories to come out of Drag Race. The two time Drag Race winner, who made her dream of being on Broadway become a reality hits yet another milestone in her career!
Jinkx has always been one to hold the spotlight without even trying. In her first run on RuPaul's Drag Race, season five (2012), it was obvious that Jinkx was the one to watch. With her unique mannerisms and style, she was a refreshing touch to an already stand out cast. Although we're sure Jinkx could've won Drag Race with just her personality alone, her impersonations and pure talent cemented the winning crown firmly on her head.
Following the win, Jinkx went on to release music including her debut album 'The Inevitable Album' (2014) and 'The Ginger Snapped' (2018), and headed out on tour with fellow Drag Race star BenDeLaCreme for The Jinkx & Dela Holiday Special. In 2022, Jinkx competed on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, the first all winners edition. Monsoon's Snatch Game impression of Judy Garland has been hailed as one of the greatest on the franchise and saw her win the crown, earning her the title of 'Queen of all Queens'.
In November 2022, Jinkx became the first drag queen to perform in a major Broadway role. Her dream became a reality when she stepped into the shoes of Matron 'Mama' Morton for eight weeks in the Broadway musical Chicago. The production saw their sales rocket as fans of Jinkx made sure to witness this monumental milestone.
2023 wasn't a quiet year for Jinkx either as it was announced that she'd be joining the cast of the British TV show Doctor Who (season fourteen) and play a 'major role'. We have no further information on this unfortunately!
Is she slowing down you ask? No! She's actually planning to steal you away on Valentine's day in 2025 and join in her celebrating yet another achievement as she debuts at the Carnegie Hall for one night only! Jinkx is yet to announce the title of the show, but what we do know is it'll be a concert filled with special guests and original songs and covers.
Is Jinkx taking over the world? We hope so.
